Panchgani is a popular hill station in Satara district of Maharashtra. Due to five hills its name is Panchagani. Panchagani is situated in the Sahyadri mountain ranges at a height of 1334 feet near Mahabaleshwar. The hill station was discovered in the 1860s by British superintendent John Chesson.
